Lyrics:

did you see the frightened ones?
did you hear the falling bombs?
did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the
promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue
sky?
Did you see the frightened ones?
did you hear the falling bombs?
the flames are all gone, but the pain lingers on.
Goodbye, blue sky
goodbye, blue sky.
goodbye.
goodbye.
goodbye.

Possibly one of the greatest animated masterpieces of all time

I had the honor of seeing this film in a full theater. There was not a dry eye in the place and some people screamed in horror when the dove burst open to reveal that monstrous eagle.

This is hands down some of them most stunning and creative animation ever. I fact The Wall would have been better as an all animation movie instead of mixing it with live action.

This song still makes me tear up after so many times. Goosebumps engulfing my body... Why? Pink Floyd.

I know I should move on, but goddamn if it still doesn't piss me off that Doug Walker called this an "Oscar-bait" song.

Yea I dont like to fall into the "our music is better than the music of today!" But the music from the 60s 70s and to a lesser extent the 80s really did have that certain something that is missing today!! Its 2 am and I woke up and I needed to hear that pink floyd song Goodbye Cruel world then I hadto hear this song. I had a dream that woke me up It was about my brother my best friend and several other friends who have all died long before it was their time. But I guess it was their time! =(

The animation is so gorgeous... it's, like, perfect for a perfect song. And this symbolizes well the nazi bombing on London during WWII.

The entire album is about Water's experiences as a little boy in WWII and then growing up during the Cold War.

More people need to see this video. I showed it to my grandparents thinking that they had seen it, when it was in fact there first time. This is an incredible masterpiece, and it portrays its meaning perfectly

Without the extra dimensions of the things they bring people don't really, value pink Floyd but true masters, and what a beautiful combo of truth

The dove breaking into a giant mecha hawk was so iconic and symbolic for me like dude that just personified everything!

Words cant really explain it but its basically the dove (peace) being torn and outside comes a metal hawk
