This is what motorcyclists call a “high side “ crash, very dangerous.

If I'm not mistaken this is the film of an actual, unscripted accident Erik had while filming. Erik suffered a dozen broken ribs, broken wrist and 2 collapsed lungs. The show 's producers kept it for publicity and even filmed subsequent scenes in the actual hospital where he was recuperating.

Ponch had a worse crash than this, which just about killed him. (..and people assume it's always stuntmen!) With eight broken ribs, a cracked sternum, a snapped collarbone, and a fractured wrist, with additional internal injuries.

The hospital scenes show he had a broken right arm, and this crash shows it would have been his left arm. Are we sure about this?
