Thanks, very helpfull.

It worked; now working on the _if_ statement on the placement. (when to go up and down): that's fun :-)

I have been trying to use your instructions about moving and animating parts. Progress ok-ish. Particularly interested in the offloading of work from Gui thread to alternate/daughter? threads. Can you spawn several threads to run concurrently? What about multithread Python? I would like to be able to move several objects at the same time maybe with different velocities on individual trajectories. You can zoom in and out via commands using a standard step, or zoom to fit, but can you find out what zoom you have? How to move the camera to (maybe) fly by a model? Thanks for good work.

The "Transformation" from FreeCAD just changes the Placement parameter. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, and I'm a noob here, this Placement does not actually persist when exporting objects to STEP files. Is there a way to *actually* transform parts... like, as if it was made in a different location in the first place?
