Doddy: The best thing I find for brushing all the dirt from those nooks and crannies, a cat!
The hairier the better, you'll often find these just wandering around so pick one up and throw it in your tool box for just this sort of task, very handy.

My bike stopped shifting smoothly between only 2 gears. Derailleur adjustments didn’t solve it. Doddy identified the issue in this video (slightly loosened bolt) & now it shifts flawlessly again. Thanks, brother!

I always remove my chainset on the road bike, I clean and grease it and I remove the BB completely and clean it and the frame before reinstalling every few months. When your crank/BB starts creaking 45 miles into a 100 mile ride it'll quickly get on your nerves and teach you to keep your bike clean and regularly greased.

Amazon to the rescue. I just hope my marriage survives all the maintenance and upgrades I've been doing across 3 bikes.

Clean and grease headset is a good one, easy to do and very satisfying getting all the crap out of the lower bearing

I have also overhauled my 2 bikes changed all worn parts from winter and tidied up all my oils and greasy stuff what I've been putting of for a while and I have spent yesterday taking all my tools out of my tool chest and all my other diy tools and polished them all up and made them look like new again it's amazing what you find in your tool chest which you never thought you had. I'm really liking this isolation but the only thing missing is a ride

After a few bikes with PF BB’s, I’ve decided it’s not worth my money to buy any bike that doesn’t have a threaded BB. Sure it may limit my options, but it also removes the burden of choice and in my experience it eliminates any issues with creaking BB’s. Great video Doddy! Cheers mate!

Not isolating because I'm one of those keyworker types. Use my MTB to get to and from work as well as for fun. Over the next few days I'm fitting a new chain wheel because I've managed to ride hard and shear cogs, realigning derailleur because gears have been mashing for a few weeks, adjusting brakes, refitting lights (nightshift worker) and giving it an oil and clean-up because there's some creaks and squeaks in there. Recently fitted a set of Black Jacks and some Slime inner tubes because 12 punctures in three weeks was a bit much for me, so I'm going to check they're holding up okay and maybe order a new set for spare.

That was really genious to bring the Cat at the end! I really like your videos to learn things to do with my (or my wifes) bike. But that Cat ❤️❤️

Also a good time to check all around the frame for stresses or cracks

Perfect!
I have a squeaky bottom bracket. needs cleaning and greasing...What is good grease to use?
I have a new expensive bike where traditionally I would use some standard white lithium grease on my bikes but always had noisy squeeky cranks.
I don't want to wreck my bb bearings early.
Are greases like Park or Shimano specific needed?
BTW I love that nukeproof reactor carbon frame and the mods you've made are spot on to make a perfect all day, everything on the menu bike!

I've also heard, that you can get around the PF BB creaking with aplying some Loctite.

All my bikes are getting a full strip down service, suspension had gone off to the service centre and putting the summer tyres on them all so that when the restrictions lift I'm ready to just hit the trails! 3 bikes to do, 1 done with no.2 in the workstand. Quick local ride in the morning (allowed here in Wales but no jumps etc, just along the local cycle paths), a Zwift session to keep the legs and fitness ticking over followed by an afternoon of spannering is my routine right now. Reward is a bit of chill time watching TV in the evening with maybe a biscuit or two. If this lockdown goes on for more than a few weeks I'l bee in the best shape ever with all bikes in perfect running order!
