Imo, medium because it's, essentially, a normal knife like you would have on you normally. So it's good to practice with what you're likely to have handy.

For some reason I find back heavy easier to puncture hit and more often, like screwdrivers or even simple butter knife. But yet I start to learn.

I do prefer a handle heavy. It’s just what I had to practice with. But I also throw spears and axes

I like each for different styles, medium for most styles but front heavy is fun for skanf and handle heavy can really make half spin feel like a breeze. Medium seems to be the sweet spot for me for no spin and for most other styles too

depends on what you're going for, i'd suppose.
handle heavy is generally easier to control the rotation for no spin.
center heavy is good for full spin because it spins consistently
blade heavy is good for half spin because it spins slowly when thrown by the blade

Handle heavy at close range, front heavy for no spin and medium balance point for spin or any application depending the model!

Ive yet to try point heavy, but i imagine it makes satisfying noise on hit. Handle heavy feels best in hand i think.

This is a difficult one, brother. A very interesting question, certainly. Probably slightly tail heavy, but not too much. And I dislike things that are excessively point heavy. I really try not to have favorites but... it's difficult. hah
