They weren't wrong when they said AI would change the world around us. AI has its uses but has a lot... A LOT of horrible uses like this

They are missing out and so are we as a result. Not a good company if it doesn’t actually represent real people with real experience. In my experience as a disabled person some of the most difficult things I encounter are because of basic assumptions able bodied people make (and why wouldn’t they if u don’t see it u don’t know). E.g. fabulous disabled area in a restaurant with ramp etc but the tables were so close together I couldn’t actually get to it. Or a ramp instead of stairs (instead of a lift) at the station that was so long (back and forth) I could never get up there without about 2 or 3 people helping. That’s why companies need to employ and consult a wide range of people with different experiences.
I, as a white woman, could never presume to understand the lived experience of a black woman or a gay man or a blind person.
We all bring something different to the table.

No. If your goal is diversity, you don’t meet that goal by “hiring” an AI program. No sir-ee. You don’t NOT! You meet your goals by saying “I want to hire someone who lives with blindness.” And then going out and actually hiring someone who lives with that condition.
