I am a painter of 30yrs. I think you did very very good. Hardest panels on a car to paint with spray can are bonnet roof boot lid. I hold my hat off to you. All those who gave thumbs down are just jealous you proved them wrong

Didn't have a sanding block so went out and bought a new TV for the styrofoam. Thanks for the tip!

for people who are going to attempt this i work at a auto body shop, use alot of water, dont press hard let the paper do the work, and sand in a x not back and forth and dont stay on one spot too long this is because it will cause a divit that is noticable once the paint is dry

I keep coming back here for reference. I'm very appreciative of your willingness to share your knowledge in a straightforward way. You keep it really simple for the average person who doesn't have all the "right" resources and tools.

I feel like the hardest part of doing all of this is finding an indoor spot to work on your car. : No wind, no harsh sunlight, no heavy dust, no outdoor debris, etc.

Good job - the only small tip i would advise is keep a rag with some thinners or turps handy to use on the rag, so you can regularly wipe the spray nozzle of the rattle can as you spray the panels. Often you get a buildup of paint on the nozzle and it will impact the spray pattern or even worse cause a drip onto your fresh paint

I have watched the video, and when the gentleman brought the vehicle I was shocked in admiration for the high quality (glossy) results yielded by the work done! It is simply inspiring for DIYers! That vehicle's hood is astonishingly nice looking!!!

OMG that's an amazing finish. In the 1980's I repainted half of a Triumph Dolomite with spray cans, it ended up looking great and nobody would believe that I did it myself. But that was light blue and single pack cellulose, which is much easier.

Incredible job on this car hood. These are the kind of videos that people enjoy because they come to the point of the problem and initiate the solution. The end result proves the expertise behind the whole process. Keep up the great videos. Enjoyed it, Thanks ...Billy / Albq N.M. 6 / 25 / 2023
