If it goes away above 3, 500-4, 000 rpm then this is just the diverter valve opening and closing very quickly to control boost and not cause compressor surge. Completely normal operation of the DV if it goes away at high rpms

It’s the waist gate sticking. You can get an adjustable dv+ valve and it fixes the issue. Had a 2018 full bolt on GTI and had the same issue!

This I believe is open throttle surge which is very bad for the engine, I would defiantly get the wast gate looked at

I went to 7 mechanics including VW and they couldn’t figure it out 😢
I’m now happy to know what is going on with my car

Similar to my 2019 Malibu LT. It’s a 1.4L turbocharged. It does this randomly when accelerating. Can’t figure it out.

Did you ever get this resolved? Mine started doing this after only 9k miles and I can't figure it out..

I am also getting this noise on my 2.0 Giulia. Is this normal to get at low rpm acceleration?
