Excellence in Customer Service – Karen King

As Wellbeing Advisor for Curtin’s Kalgoorlie Campus, Karen King truly supports the students’ wellbeing.

Through Karen’s passion and dedication to her work, she helps students develop and retain the agency required to overcome the challenges of university life. Being in a remote place can be isolating, but Karen brings a level of rapport and support to the students, to make them feel that they belong and ensures they have the best on-campus experience.

Karen King is the individual winner of the ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ Award for the 2021 VC’s Excellence Awards for Professional Staff.

The VC’s Excellence Awards for Professional Staff recognise and celebrate the vital contributions in collaboration, innovation, customer service, values-based leadership, reconciliation and health and safety that our professional staff make to Curtin.

In 2021 49 high-calibre nominations were received, representing a more than 350 professional staff.
