I must say I very much appreciate the pace you talk at it gives me just enough time to gather my thoughts. when I learnt this not too long ago it was at a much faster pace and I just had to take note and go over them as I didnt understand it fully

This hands down is the best explained video for this aspect of inspection and testing procedures
I will be looking for other related videos on this channel from now on
THANK YOU GUYS

I've recently realised that the KT63 manual implies that if you use the high current mode, then in all circumstances you have to have the leads in the 2 wire configuration. Your Ze and Zs tests don't do that, but your PSC test does.
From the manual "The high current test mode requires the use of the distribution board lead set ACC063 configured in 2-wire mode". and "For Ze testing at the distribution board or at any point upstream of RCD protection there is a traditional fast high current test mode. The high current mode is a 2-wire test that enables the user to test the true impedance of both the Line-Neutral Loop and the Line–Earth Loop".
I've tested several installation the way you did it with the N lead seperate and got plausible results but I'm now wondering if the results are valid. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Nice pace to this video. Would have been good to mention maybe why it was so important to isolate the CU when carrying out the Ze test. 👍

Very nice presentation and easy to follow. How is it possible that doing Zs (at DB) you are able to measure Ze + R1 + R2 with main switch and all breakers in the off position? min 10:08.

thanks for sharing this knowledge. Its quite a huge and complicated topic.

This is by far the best electrical video explaining how to do Ze and PFC tests. I watched Andys video on transposition of formula and he explained that better than my course tutor. Its a shame you do not do a whole series of testing videos that relate to the AM2 as this is where a lot of apprentices etc struggle. I hope this is something you will do in the future.

My thanks to Tim and Chris for pointing out that the instruction manual requires the test leads on a Kewtech KT63 to be in 2-wire mode when using the high current test mode. In answer to your question Tim about whether previous test results are valid, I've conducted the test many times using both 2 lead and 3 lead configurations on various meters and the results have always been identical. The golden rule though is always follow the manufacturer's instructions so I've given myself a slap on the wrists!

Andy you're an absolute diamond.THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time and making the effort to make and post such a BRILLIANT video. Crystal clear step by step explanations throughout. I have my first NICEIC assessment in the morning and this was the one sticking point I was struggling to get my head around, until watching this that is.

37k views and no one has left a comment. Andy - slight surprise that the term meggering is still being used, the onsite guide being referenced in a training session and no main earth terminal notice fitted, but i'm nit picking ! a clear and excellent video.

The KT 63 manual says that for high current test, i.e. Ze, the leads should be configured in 2 wire mode. I noted at 7.27, the test was done with 3 wire lead configuration. The manual also states do not use high current test in 3 wire configuration. Also, I noted you used 2 wire config for PSC but 3 wire for PFC. Is there a difference if you use both in 2 wire config? Both are high current so shouldn't they be config in 2 wire according to the manual? Thanks.

Why are you showing a high current test in the 3 wire configuration when the kewtech KT63 instructions state that this function is only to be used in a 2 wire mode.
