I gifted my 11-year-old Mizuno JPX 800 irons to my son and I purchased the JPX 925 HMPros. Like the T-Mobile commercial, they're like peanut butter on jelly on gold. :)

Just bought a set of these yesterday after playing the Mizuno T-Zoid Pro's from 1999 all these yrs. During fitting the stats were exactly what you saw on the course. I am eager to get on the course and see how I and they perform. My purpose moving to these is to gain some distance and forgiveness since I am older and not as limber as I used to be. Hehe! After watching this video, I am confident I made the right purchase.

I have a set on order, originally I wanted the 245 but the additional forgiveness of the 925 clinched it for me in the end. I went for the steelfibre shaft which was expensive at £50 uplift per club. Bracing myslef to see what impact the new clubs have on the course!

Gabe thanks for the review. I play JPX923 HM Pro’s and love them. I was concerned after playing more traditional lofts in the previous set of JPX800 Pro Forged irons. My concern was dispersion since the stronger lofts with the 923’s. No problem but did gain distance and they are as they say Hot off the face. Absolutely love Mizuno irons.

Going to be some tough competition on your favorite iron this year. Hoping you get to test the new PXG irons.

One thing I really liked about the Ping G430 is how they were able to make it appear to be a much smaller clubhead in the address position. Don't know how they did it but so many of the newer clubs I could actually see the cavity back at address which turned me off instantly. It's why I chose the Callaway Apex 21s. I can't wait to try these out to see how they stack up.

Good morning Gabe. I would imagine that it would be pretty easy to put the HM Pro's in the shorter irons and then the HM in the irons where you start to see a lack of sufficient flight. You're going to need 4 conventional wedges with these irons, with a 42 degree set wedge.

Gabe - how would you compare these to the previous 923s? I certainly don't have any desire to upgrade, but if somebody was in the market would you recommend the new ones or trying to save a little cash and buy the previous model? All the things you are saying about these are what I also feel I got in the 923s.

BTW, you played some really nice golf. Seems to me that there would be no reason to go with the regular HM unless a bigger clubhead inspires more confidence. Although the HM Pro performs really well I still can't get over that badge on the back that cheapens it IMHO. Any chance you'll be reviewing the new Callaway Apex Ti Fusion? That club looks soooo good.

For what it's worth all the reviews I've seen say the 923 and 925's are virtually identical other than cosmetics. Brand new sets of the 923's are still available at substantial discounts.

My Mizuno 921 hot metal pro's are easily the best clubs I've ever owned forgiveness-wise. If you are due for a new set I think these 925's should definitely be on your list to try out.
