As when voltage is very high, electric field around the wire increases so much and polarises the air molecules into + and - ions and which lead to conduction and spark formation ( easily available in summer in transfomer's blast 😂😂😂)

I am in class 10 asked my physics teacher yesterday that why is air an insulator? He told me that when the voltage is extremely high, air conducts electricity.

It's a concept from electrodynamics 🙏 first since the plastic rod being an insulator so man didn't get shock and 2 point it shows the behaviour of high tension wire since these have low resistance and high voltage it and air being good conductor for high voltage and short distance the current forms arc also known as dielectric breakdown of air 🙏

When wire circuit break instantly so charge move to erosol and erosol part is of collide and collide in presence charges posite and negitive these reasons air make a conductor for this incident
Please tell what's your openian for this Post 👍

High voltage current can flow in air when the electric field strength is sufficient to ionize the air molecules. Ionization occurs when the voltage is high enough to overcome the dielectric strength of air, which is typically around 3 kV/mm (kilovolts per millimeter). When this threshold is surpassed, the air molecules break down into ions, creating a conductive path for the electric current.

This phenomenon is known as "corona discharge" or "electrical breakdown." It can lead to the formation of visible sparks or a faint glow around high voltage conductors or equipment. However, it's generally undesirable in electrical systems because it can result in energy loss, equipment damage, and safety hazards. Engineers and designers take measures to minimize corona discharge by using insulating materials and proper spacing of conductors to prevent excessive electric field strengths in the air surrounding high voltage components.

This electromagnetic force
1. Act between charges.
2. Long range .
3. Does not require medium .
4. Strong force .

This is due to dielectric breakdown of air because of high voltage.

Maybe the voltage is so high that it conducts current through air...Right

This can be told as the phenomena of tesla coil... Due to very high voltage an electric dischagre takes place tht ionise the air molecules of the surrounding...

Voltage is too much high that's why air start behaving as conductor, current still flows through conductor even disconnecting the wire.

Dielectric breakdown, electrical arcing.
DUE TO VERY HIGH VOLTAGE THE SHAPE OF AIR GETS DISTORTED AND IT LEADS TO THE FORMATION OF SHARP EDGE[LEADING TO CORONA DISCHARGE]

Corona Discharge :- When The electric field around a conductor is increased beyond its capacity, The Charges get dissociate in air, And Ionise the air surrounding it

Dielectric strength of air is 3.6×10^6 .beyond this, If voltage is given the spark is produced

I am class 10 th student.
According to me the voltage is so much high that it crosses the resistance of air
Voltage/resistance =current
If Voltage is more than the resistance than definitely some amount of current will flow.

Whenever high electric field is flowing through the conductor then there is dielectrics concept comes across it and the high electric current ionise the air across the conductor which lead to flow the current around the conductor

From power station by Transfarmer, the lowest voltage has converted in high voltage. So there is used step up Transfarmer. You are working there without using step down transfer.
