Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Auto Gas Pump Fix For Capless Intakes (2018)

I have - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has a cap-less gas intake. When ever I insert the gas pump, and try to put on the auto fill, the gas pump clicks off after a few seconds.

I figured out that if you turn the gas pump upside down, it will auto fill with no issues.

Thank you so much for this. I've just bought this jeep and couldn't figure out why it kept clicking. I was hurting my hand angling the gas nasal to where it won't click. 😂

Thanks so much for posting this video! Mine was even cutting off when manually pumping the gas so I would never really fill my tank because it took so long!

If you are on a newer pump with the plastic collar shielding (Safeway gas), you won't be able to rotate like this and still have enough spout to clear both seals. Jeep needs to redesign the filler. If anyone has a set of part numbers to convert this filler to a compatible model that doesn't have this issue, please post. Filling a 2020 JGC at Safeway is nearly impossible. Car has under 7k miles. This is not a wear issue. It's a design defect.
