Hermione was confirmed white, Rowling was just being an idiot at the time. It wasn't even the white face part from book 3. It was when she got the black eye and Harry thought she looked like half a Panda. You know, a white face with black around the eyes. Case closed no black Hermione thanks.

Rowling has mentioned MULTIPLE times in the books that Hermione is white. She describes her white face and skin. Rowling herself is slipping up on what and what she hasn't mentioned in these books.

Btw I do agree that we should have completely new talent. Maybe the older characters can be established actors and actresses but the kids especially our main trio should be fresh af.

You and I both know there was no trans character in the original books. I promise 110% if any character gets turned trans whether it's a main character like Dumbledore or Sirius but even a minor character like the guy at the Leaky Cauldron or Mrs Figg...then i just won't watch.

JK is mistaken when she said she never described hermione. As she was decribed, having bushy light brown hair and "pale" "white" skin in the books. Even having a scene where Ron and Harry commented on her tan being weird looking on her, when she came back from Paris. Not to mention when she got compared to a panda when she got a black eye. She just was not dark skinned in the books, and if this is supposed to be book accruate, they should keep true to everything as much as possible.

Hermione being black and campaigning for the freedom of house elves and being called a “mudblood” will NOT play well. They can’t do that. Broadway hermione being black is a casting choice, not cannon in the series.

Basically it would be cool to see you and MovieFlames do a collab video together talking about a certain topic to do with the new HP series or news that's coming out. Maybe like when the cast is officially announced? Idk... it just would be nice to see two creators who make videos about HP come together.

We need to remind JK that she was the one who wrote Hermione to be white in the books. She should stick to that description for her character as well.

Fresh actors would be great for a franchise this beloved. Having established actors in adult roles is also a great idea. I’m sure opportunities to add diversity to the cast where they can will be taken. If for no other reason than to give the show it’s own identity separate from the movies. I just hope they focus on talent and refrain from sacrificing established canon just for the sake of diversity.

They basically can't cast trans actors now or it'll just look like they're doing it to do it. And if they cast trans people just because they're trans and not because of their acting ability I will never watch this show. It's the same thing they've been trying to do with movies and gay people and black people It's all just favoritism because of something you identify with and nothing to do with skill or credentials It basically is what has been ruining movies for the last five to 10 years. And I'm absolutely sick of it.

She's f*cked if she does or she doesn't, isn't she? If she does have a trans actor, they'll say she's only doing it to pander. If she doesn't have a trans actor, they'll use that to reinforce their opinion of her. It's ridiculous.

It was obvious they would include a “token” Trans actor just as they did in Hogwarts Legacy. I am not concerned by that.
However, a black Hermione is a mistake. They already tried that in Cursed Child. At least they might not race-swap all the redheaded Weasleys, but I don’t think I can watch a black Hermione.
They have ruined so many traditional stories recently with this tactic, with Disney, LOTR, GOT Prequel, etc. I had hoped JKR would be able to prevent it with the new Harry Potter.
Oh well, at least we have the 7 books and 8 films. They can’t take those away from us.
