Hey Glenn, I agree about your comments regarding the price of this vehicle. I had already known that I was going to purchase the car long before pricing became available and like you, I assumed similar priced options that I'd have to add for the M3/4. I configured an M3/4 with the options I wanted and noticed there was a 25-30% increase over the base price for my preferred build. So, combining that knowledge with what was at the time an expected base price of 55k for the M2, I was looking at a price of nearly 70k for the M2. So I began preparing my finances for a 70k bill before tax. But then, imagine my shock when the cost only ended up being 53k for my desired build. I then went to town on all the M Performance Parts ending with a final price of 61k which was 9K under what I was originally expecting. My dealer gave me everything at MSRP for a '17 model. I consider the M2 a complete steal.

E46 M3, E92 M3, 1M, M coupe, and now an M2? Damn dude, you're living the dream!

M2 from Canada, loaded by default, added sunroof as option. It's absolutely brilliant, such a balance between power and handling, yet so raw but also refined. It's very hard to describe with words. I also own other cars that are fast enough (on paper, and in practice), but nothing comes close to the feel of the M. Porsche might be the only car that could come close to it.

I've had mine for 3 weeks now & so far I love it but I can't wait until the break-in period is over so I can have some real fun! I highly recommend the M2 especially for the price.

Hi Glenn, I have have tracked my mineral gray M2 at Watkins Glen once. About to drive it again up there on June 21. Brakes were great! Handled beautifully...my only gripe and I mentioned it to the the dealer was that my car came with Conti-Sports on the wheels. They are not in the same class as the Michelins or Pirellis. But I use the car every day (11, 500 miles so far!) so i will be changing the tires soon enough. The car is an absolute blast and I agree- a great bargain! Enjoy! PS: I have the dual-clutch...because I knew I would use it every day, I didn't want to deal with the third pedal although I LOVE driving a stick. Anyway, tremendous fun! -Nick

My 2017 Alpine white M2 with DCT came in at $57, 425 with the black front grille and black side vents. I was told that all M2's ordered after May 1 2017 had a price increase of around $900 to MSRP. Haven't verified that claim by my salesman though. Absolutely love this car, and with the its resale value being so high, I'm keeping a close eye on the rumored 2018 M2 CS.

Looks like a great car! Definitely something I would love to add to my collection. I currently have a 96 e36 328i, a 03 e39 530i, and a 06 e60 M5. Love the color....I was always a fan of the e46 m3's laguna Seca blue. Looking forward to more videos.

howdy Glen! As an M2 owner I enjoy watching you talk about your M2. The DCT option is actually $2900 not $2400.

The M2 has absolutely been everything I expected and more. My first sporty car was a 2002 RSX type-S. It wasn't the most powerful, it was light on torque low in the RPM and suffered from horrendous understeer but the car was just fun to drive and I had an emotional connection to the car. I loved that car. I drove it for 8 years and traded it in for a 2009 Infiniti G37 Sport 6MT coupe. The infiniti was in many ways a better car, more power, more torque, massively improved steering, RWD nicer interior; however, I just never had a connection to the car in the same way I had with the Acura. The M2 recaptures that feeling but has the benefit of amazing power, handling and luxury features. I've only had my M2 for 3 months but I feel like I have that same connection to the car as I had with my RSX. This time I will not be trading it in...I'm keeping this car long term.

I also feel that the M2 is the most "bang for your buck" you can buy; only rivaled by the Corvette Stingray.

I owned a 228i with the Sport seats and moonroof.

With the seat at maximum height (as I liked it, ) my sunglasses got knocked off my head every time I got into or out of the car, and I'm only 5'9"-5'10".

Don't get the moonroof/sunroof unless you're 5'8" or below.

They added a moon roof to the m2 in 2018 model. I’m pretty sure but correct me if I’m wrong

Hey Glenn, did you know Motortrend has tested the 6MT M2 at 4.2 sec now. That's usually what I go by. I've seen 6MT from 4.1-4.4 and DCT from 4.0-4.3 sec.

I'd love to get one but in my area (Portland OR) it's a 1 and half year wait. : (

Would you recommend a m235i as a cheaper car and not so far off the m2?

I'm loving my new M2. The 2018's come with a moon roof. Spoiler and double clutch. Which that double clutch is a life saver on my knee's. Being 45 years of age. Shifting has become more of a problem, which was the selling point for me. Went with the black and put a custom tint on it, because 80% of the time, it's sunny here in South Carolina.

Added note: Did the Performance driving delivery day, in Spartanburg, SC. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The factory is HUGE!!!

Wonderful profile of this model. Curious: did you really find the e92 m3 v-8 bulky or onerous? Why do you loathe sunroofs? Do you ever get up to speed in New Jersey? You appear hampered by country roads and 45mph max.
