I loved how Nemona basically starts a new savegame when you meet her. She already is a champion and had her adventure and now she picked you as the next main character with the subtleness of a bulldozer

You can do the same thing when she asks if you became the champion when you leave the pokemon league. She says something like “YOU! CHAMPION! YES?!”

I really like that she didnt really have any huge amounts of emotional development. Like she has her stuff pretty well together and i appreciate the fun competitiveness

I imagine Nemona prior to your arrival had creeped out everyone in the academy with her very forward battle-junkie-ness, leaving her with no friends or rivals. When she heard about you the MC, a newly enrolling student, who should have zero friends or acquaintances, she most likely was over the moon and must have imagined and practiced how your first interaction would go. Seizing this golden opportunity to finally make a friend/rival with someone that should have no literal reason to decline her friendship at all, because you the MC are new and have no friends yet, not knowing her approach is to forward and can come off as a bit creepy.

I actually really like this about Nemona, it very different from the other rivals and I find better then all the other friendly type “rivals” they had been making. Nemona is awkwardly forward, possessive, and can be downright creepy. Literally when you reject her friendship in the first meeting she ignores it and continues on as if you said yes!! I honestly like that, it’s a lot of character without it being explicit.

I was honestly surprised by the quality of the story, specially the "the way home" arc it really felt like an anime, Penny, Arven, Nemona all were people I would honestly love to hang out in real life.

I like how Nemona probably picks the weaker starter on purpose, considering that if she beat you the first time you met her- you wouldn’t want to keep battling with her. Just a hunch lol

Also am I the only one that got “and that’s how I met your mother” vibes after that fight I mean she really looks like she likes the Mc

For Hop, he learnt that there is more than one way to reach the top. He may not be able to be as good as his brother, but he is Hop, not Leon. His path is out of his brother's shadow not to stay in it.

For Nemona, she learnt it is lonely at the top. People become afraid of her because she seems so daunting. She questioned whether she liked this treasure she sought out. Eventually, the right person came along and showed her a brilliant blazing light.

Damn this really makes Nemona look crazy. People were calling her a Yandere despite her showing no signs of being aggressive but this right here actually makes her look a bit yandere-ish.

I've picked "No" until i had no other choices. It reminded me of the Izanami technique in Naruto Shippuden. You are stuck in a loop until you face the reality, there is no refusing her.

She's alot more complex than rivals like Hop in that she's invested in YOUR growth. It's a really interesting trait for a rival to have

I can imagine Nemona as an actual player and you are the npc. She saves the game before she asks, then when you say no she reloads the game until you say yes

*I LOVE NEMONA!* 🤣 Honestly, given her passion and enthusiasm, it’s realistic that she would never take no for an answer. I would do the same if I had a chance to battle somebody who beat the number one champion.

There was also a moment in gates to infinity where if you tried to reject umbreon and espeon your character would say something like I don't think this crowd could take this joke lightly
