I wouldn’t be surprised if they are version exclusives - Mew is a old Pokémon (Scarlet) and Mewtwo is a futuristic Pokémon created by humans (Violet).

To me that makes sense (although will be annoying)

At July 21st they adding Mega Mewtwo X License and mid-August they adding another Mega Mewtwo Y License, so they adding 2 different Mewtwo Licenses in total!

If this were to be version excusive, I REALLY hope they have the ability to be shiny. I was only ten when SW/SH came out and didn't shiny hunt the legendaries and now I can't get them back lmao. BUT.
I DON'T want a ghimighoul repeat. We NEED increased shiny odds! Or at least do the Ghimmigouhl event again and this time increase it's odds. Nobody want's to hunt for a fucking full odds LIMITED TIME shiny, and for that shiny to be dogshit, I feel the Pokemon company is trying to get us mad. But...why? HA HA HA THEORY ESSAY!

I think it's for marketing reasons. They KNOW the DLC is going to be a laggy mess. They KNOW we are going to complain. BUT...by setting the bar low, we won't be that mad. Looking back, Scarlet and Violet had a good story, not a great one, but it's just AMAZING after getting whatever SW/SH was. It's also why people loved PLA. It could also be more people make content about Pokemon, complaing I'll be it, but it could still reach out to others. It also, following my last 2 points, could be a way to make people on YT, Twitch and shit praise the pokemon company, bringing in more money. Or perhaps they think we enjoy this kinda stuff.

ALSO, STOP COMPLAINING BITCHES. I know I just did (Kinda) but the Pokemon company CAN'T win. They make Ghimigoul finally available shiny? People complain when this would be the exact same way you find it in the wild. It's also better as you don't have to grind levels and terra shards (Unless you can't find the terra you want, but thats a you problem).

I doubt the version exclusive thing besides the terrorist events they did for iron leaves walking wake great tusks and iron treads all allowed you to catch the Pokemon of the other version so it's not like they would force it to be the other way with two legendaries for an anniversary event if anything they might just let a code exists on the anniversary that gets you a Mewtwo and mew that have an anniversary mark on them or something

Mew with any neutral Nature (Shy, Honest, Hard Working, Quirky, and Earnest) is the best when Synchro works in the overworld to get any wild Pokémon with a Nature match. Being able to get Pokémon from different ways is the fun of the games.
