I am surprised at how quickly and efficiently they have been working, they apply a lot of changes in a matter of a month with few bugs in general, the engine change is noticeable.

I LOVE these changes! An Evolve-styled 1-5 role ranking system was something I really wanted! Having separate MMR for each role just feels like icing on the cake.

So excited for role specific MMR! If executed properly, it will help make for more balanced lane and jungle match-ups. It might even incentivize players to queue roles they don't normally like, so they can rank up in each of them. It may also increase the ranked player base if people feel they are more likely to get a role that they find fun. It could also allow players to improve in roles they are weaker at without worrying about putting their team at a disadvantage.

TLDR; role specific MMR, if executed properly, could positively affect ranked in many ways = HYPE!

Sounds great, they must have had Minimum Richard working on the MM in Smite 1.

Nice addition, none of this matters at all if they don't address the issue of player base. If you don't have the player base to pull from none of this matters.

The biggest problem with SMITE is having to hit a button 10 times before the ability goes off. I've gotten in the habit of spamming the trigger button to help the ability to go off. And no I'm not silenced. Sometimes the character starts jumping instead of casting the ability. This has been a problem for a few months now in SMITE. Not sure if I'm going to get SMITE 2 unless they fix this problem.

Matchmaking is easily the biggest problem with the game. Happy to see they're mixing it up. Hopefully it comes through as a success

Role specific matchmaking with priorities sounds great. There should be the option to rank some roles on the same priority though.
E.g. Priority 1: Mid, Priority 2: Jungle, all other roles: equally weighted

I wish they would take into account ingame performance not just win rate. Kills, assists, gold should be top priority scores then lower deaths, player damage, damage mitigation, damage taken, minion and structure dmg should be on a lower priority for the statistics. These statistics should be weighted for the roles.

You need to implore bonuses to those roles people overall play the LEAST (such as support).

So what defines a players mmr? Is it purely win/loss based like in ranked or is does it also factor in kda and damage? There are definitely times where I've lost where I've gone 14-1 with 40k damage and my teammates would have like 20k
