Online retailers bank on Black Friday, but muted sales for some brick-and-mortar shops

The start of the holiday shopping season has kicked off with a big bang on Black Friday for many online retailers in Singapore. One reported a three-fold increase in sales over the weekend, while another saw sales in the first two hours on Friday exceed figures on an average day. But for others -- especially brick-and-mortar stores -- what should have been a roaring shopping weekend, started with a whimper instead.

My pretty-new debit-card didn't work at the ATM for funny-reasons. I think i will follow up AFTER black friday sales. That will save me some excuses
