This movie is one of the greatest animated films I've ever. I watched it when it came out, and ive watched it ever since. It's got great action, drama, tension, horror, hope, loss and comfort. The animation is spectacular for 2009. Its soundtrack by Danny Elfman is nearly flawless. The actors they chose to voice them is perfect. I could not imagine it any other. 10 out of fucking 10. I would recommend this to anyone. And if you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you.

A very deep movie. I like the idea that scientist divides his soul into nine parts. He creates Homunculi (Latin for “little men”) - one of the medieval alchemist aims. Number 1 who is the oldest doll represents the Pope, the church (the old world). Number 9, the light bearer, is the saver, the Prometheus. He brings (fire) knowledge to human kind (8/9 of on person :D).
This movie is about about Aristotle's "facets of man", each of the characters represents and different human trait good or bad, and so they need to combine to be able to get anything done.
It also represents human kind transition form one age to other as many believe which is happening now.
And so on and so on. It is so deep, that is hard to not get amazed and comprehend everything

I'm so lucky to have been able to say that I got to experience this movie as a child when it was released. I remember the trailer coming on for other movies and it'd give me chills. The story, the characters, animation, style, fear, and music was a whole other experience.
