I like the tortured genius angle of Good Will Hunting, he's incredibly gifted with a mind that he never really wanted and everyone else pressurises him because of it, and the man just wanted to lead a normal life and chill with the boys

This reminds me of one of the most impactful DnD characters I played. He was a stonemason turned mercenary when his home was destroyed and he failed to protect his family. So he used his masonry and half giant magic to forge a powerful suit of magic stone armor. He was incredibly strong and a ferocious warrior, and his armor gave him the ability to destroy what he put his mind to, but all he really wanted was to build, sculpt, and care for a family.

But Desmond Doss was a real dude. He really did do that and is considered a legend at this point for what he pulled off.

In one of my Yu-Gi-Oh AUs inspired heavily by a DnD run, one of my characters, the party's wizard/cleric, is a therian (a humanoid race with animal characteristics). He is essentially a gender-flipped classic disney princess: kind, gentle, naive, hardly ever gets angry or upset, and is basically completely nonviolent. Thing is, he's a tiger therian, a race almost stereotypically used as soldiers and bodyguards because of their superhuman strength, reflexes, and predatory instinct. He's by far the best at physical damage dealing, but he actively nerfs himself by avoiding combat because he's too nice to try to hurt someone.

Reminds me of the series of doctor who i just finished watching (with Doctor and Donna). He doesnt lile violence, but then he inspires all of his allies to fight against the enemy with dangerous weapons

Being capable of excessive force isn't antithetical to peace, but rather necessary. You can only keep the peace if you are strong enough to defend it. Being in harmony with nature doesn't mean being weak, nature can be savage as it fights to survive, to be in harmony with it means to be capable of wrestling it back in control when it lashes out then providing what it needs.

Holy moly! I had no idea those wonderful books had sold so many copies! I'm truly happy for you, and for all those readers. Your books helped build the foundations of my own skills as a developing writer.

My character and her brother are the only surviving members of a clan that developed rather powerful magic. And she is forced with the choice of staying and helping her brother rebuild their clan and preserving their magic so it is not lost to history, or leaving it all behind to explore and study the different sorts of magic all over the world, which is what shes always really wanted to do.

In my upcoming series, the heros face off against the 7 sins. But contrary to their belief (and the viewers expectation), the sins are the opposite of what they represent. But their powers exploit the sins they cannot enjoy

Wrath is a pacifist monk, who solves his issues diplomatically, as violent thoughts bring him agonising pain. But he can dispell any form of attack made towards him.

Sloth is energetic and restless... never sleeps or stops moving. And because of this he is hard to catch, causing lazy people to get tired easy.

Gluttony is an anorexic corpse with its mouth sewn up, but releases a vile smell that causes anyone to become violently nauseous.

Greed is incorporeal, and cannot touch anything physically. But anyone he touches also becomes incorporeal, losing contact to all material possessions they have with them.

Envy is trapped in a magical iron maiden that blocks all the senses. But people around her have their jealousy given a physical form, that they must fight.

Lust is a disgustingly hideous blob of flesh. But causes powerful mind control to the weak willed who fall for temptation easily.

Pride was a weak and cowering fool, but had the ability to change bodies temporarily, moving his soul to others and beatimg them up in his weak body.

Frankenstein’s creation is called the Creature. Just the Creature. I much prefer it to “monster”

Superman does not kill. Or rather should not. He is the embodiment of power, and if his goal is to beat the bad guys, he has to avoid using all that power. He is the Man of Steel in a world made of cardboard.

Heh, no wonder my favorite characters are gentle giants and kind monsters.

In the book I’m writing the main character’s power brings people to him and while this may seem like a good thing, for this character it’s not, the main character is a lone wolf and doesn’t want anyone getting in the way of his goal which is to kill the main villain.

Yes but how do I write a realistic scenario for getting a step bro stuck?

I'm kinda surprised a literary channel goes with the movie version of Frankenstein's monster instead of the book version.
For note the book version was a perfect man created not by sewing together corpses but by chemical means. The monster wasn't hideous but actually beautiful, except for his eyes. . .

The anime “The Devil is a Part Timer” does this really well. The protagonist is a powerful demon lord, but his goal is to be the best fast food worker ever lmao.

Hello hellofutureme can you make I video on how to develop an interesting character (I have had one for ages and he basically hasn't changed in his 2 years of existing)

Edit: he's not a book character but I'm think that it's mostly the same thing of character development
