In this natural gas documentary, we explore the science, history, and future outlook of this vital commodity. Learn about how natural gas is used, it's impacts on the environment, and how it is supplied to the world.

Very few commodities can match natural gas in terms of its contribution to human survival and industrial progress around the globe.

Natural gas provides an efficient and reliable form of heat in the coldest of climates, allowing people to live and be productive under conditions that would normally make survival very difficult.

It is also an essential component of nitrogen-based fertilizers, making it an important part of modern agriculture and farming, and thus responsible for much of the world’s food supply.

Refrigeration, lighting, air conditioning, transportation, industrial production, there are very few aspects of our modern civilization that are untouched by natural gas.

This natural gas documentary sheds some light on one of the world’s most controversial but nonetheless vital resources.

Produced, Edited, and Narrated by Jesse Day.

I love how much I learn from this channel. I learn best when taught information alongside visuals that allows me to create mental pictures inside my head that I can then carry with me and info sticks better than just reading out of a textbook.

I really like this video and I think you really summed it up big time. Fact of the matter is our technology regarding renewable is advancing quickly and is likely the future. However a transition is a gradual process that can and should be managed the scale according to technical capability rather than wanton ignorance.

NOT mining and using natural gas is MUCH worse for the environment than mining and using natural gas.

Does anybody know if the natural gas that is pumped to our homes is powered by electrical power? or does it depend on natural gas? I'm asking in case our country loses electrical power for months

Why do you give your opinion on the future of natural gas like it was certain ? In fact, it's the protests and the political initiatives that will accentuate the energy transition, and THEREFORE, decrease the price of other sources of energy.

We know gas naturally "out gases" from crud oil. Do you it think hypothetically that oil can transformed into coal after millions of years of outgassing and pressure?

It was an error to rely on Russian energy to begin with but hindsight does nothing for us.
We'll have to find other trading partners. I'm all for energy independence and we might need to embrace nuclear. Renewables will become reliable once we have batteries for them but as you know, we have no answer to that right now. It's true that our push to renewables is at a very difficult early stage since we don't have the tech for it but we have to find an alternative to OPEC. Regardless of past U.S. intervention in the middle east, cowing to the Kremlin is not an option.
