Charanjit Channi faces BJP’s wrath for backing pro-Khalistani Amritpal Singh in Lok Sabha

Charanjit Singh Channi, a Congress MP and former Punjab CM, spoke in the Lok Sabha about chief of "Waris Punjab De" Khalistani symphathiser Amritpal Singh, and an independent MP, who is currently in jail under the NSA. Channi argued that while some people constantly reference the Emergency of the past, there is an "undeclared Emergency" happening now, where an elected MP is being held without being able to represent his constituents' views in the Lok Sabha
In Lok Sabha, former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi said, "They speak about Emergency every day. But what about the undeclared Emergency in the country today?...This too is Emergency that a man who was elected as an MP by 20 lakh people in Punjab is behind bars under the NSA. He is unable to present the views of the people of his constituency, here. This too is Emergency."
