NELSON | Over 48 hours we explore the Nelson region, from its quirky city to the quiet shores of Golden Bay. Being the oldest city in New Zealand's South Island, Nelson has a lot of history and culture. It's also home to the 'centre' of New Zealand! In this video, we spend day 1 exploring the marina and the city of Nelson, before exploring further afield on day 2 to the Golden Bay area, a location we quickly fell in love with!

I had a summer with my mother's sister's family in Motueka when I was 17 years old. Did the Able Tasman with my cousins. I'll never forget those golden beaches and the people I met. Some are still friends today 40 years later. Even my cousins😊

Thank you for introducing me to Nelson, beautiful. Can see why Golden Bay got its name and the Tata beach very much reminded me of the lovely beaches in Cornwall. ❤

Golden Bay looks amazing. Interesting that there was a statue of Abel Tasman. It reminds me a bit of the east coast of Tasmania, especially Wineglass Bay and Coles Bay.

Correction it's the Nelson/Tasman region not just the Nelson region. Honestly the views from the Grampians lookout is alot better than from the centre of new Zealand and the Saturday market is so much better than the farmers market

I just remember how educated, hard working and well-mannered even the most rural farmers were. It's not like that where I am.
