Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and a seriously awesome place to explore and despite being compact and easy to explore, theres also some really awesome things to do in Wellington that we want to share with you in this little travel vlog and guide.

I grew up in Wellington, have spent a lot of my adult life there and have friends in the city still - while living there might be different to travels, there's still so many good things to see and do.

So if you're looking for a quick read of what to do in Wellington, here's a very top line run down, but you're better off using the chapters on the timeline on the video above and skimming ahead to what interests you.

In short:
— Te Papa Museum has 800,000+ things to see, but don't miss the award winning "Gallipoli Scale of our War" exhibition
— Explore the waterfront
— Don't miss Cuba Street and Lampton Quay for people watching, eating and shopping
— Wellington Chocolate Factory 90- minute tour where you learn about the whole process from bean to bar:
— Lucky Fried Chicken was my favourite cheap eat
— Dockside Restaurant has a great reputation for a reason
— August Eatery is our best recommendation for brunch
— Vonuts for donuts
— Scopa for the best pizza!
— The Hangar by Flight Coffee for a trio of flat whites
— Fortune Favours for a beersie or 3
— Wellington Cable Car is a must do!
— The Roastery on the Kapiti Coast for the best coffee, and experience, in your life

‘The Library’ is my favourite bar. It’s best to book ahead of time as it’s always busy, and they have the best combination of cocktails!

Wellington is a favorite city of ours . We enjoyed our time there. Loved Weta Workshop. Like kids in a candy store. The railway / cable cars were great to get around to the spots that we wanted to go to. A very walkable city. As always, great job with the video. Sending you 🫂 Hugs and 💋 Kisses from Harriet, Jim and Yuki

I miss being up at this time regularly and being one of the first to watch your videos, it's very rare now, circumstances dictate. I'm happy to be one of the first again today it's almost nostalgic 😄

I loved Wellington on my visit to NZ, its the only capital (and big city in general) that I've felt like I could live in for a while, normally I can’t wait to get somewhere smaller 😂 in a strange way it reminded me of Bristol in the UK which is the nearest big city to me, still smaller but similar vibes
