Great review! My daughter is 3 years old and I’m thinking about getting one for her as well. I saw a post where the customer service said it can only be used inside the airport. Do you also use it outside at all?

I would use grippy shelf lining between the seat and the pad, it wouldn't take up much space to carry as part of the kit.

Maybe velcro can keep the padding in place...
