I love how this movie isn’t an excuse to sell Lego sets it plays as a straightforward documentary, just with Legos

This was the part of the film that hit. I jokingly told my friend "watch Daft Punk save Pharrell" and as soon as I finished saying that, that first note played. It was genuinely the most hyped we both felt in a while during a movie, it was like the portals scene in endgame. Knowing the context of Pharrell's life at that moment, it made the song a lot more special. Daft Punk have always been and always will be the greatest.

The analogy of the planet earth was actually very clever. In the recording of Random Access Memories, Daft Punk had a big phpto of planet earth covering a hole wall in the studio, cause that's were they wanted to go with the album, to everyone in the world.

This movie knew its audience it wanted & wasn’t trying to sell to a mass market or even to sell LEGO sets. The use of LEGO to execute Pharrell’s creative mind in how he “builds” beats was a nice artistic choice.
All in all this movie is great.

As someone who’s beginning their own music journey and ALSO someone who grew up in the 757, this movie was fucking FANTASTIC, I had tears in my eyes seeing iconic spots from VA beach rebuilt in Lego for this movie and listening to Pharrell’s story, it was nothing but inspirational for me and this movie as a whole, even if you’re not from the 757, VA, or a musician, is SUCH a good watch.
