The fact that the government gets to choose when an election happens and that they get to reset the clock if they win seems...not democratic. In Sweden there's an election every 4 years on a fixed day, and instead of snap elections we have extra elections for any crisis when it might be needed (which last happened in 1958). The planned election still happens on the fixed time.
