POV: You’re here because of the Nelson Mandela effect

THIS is what I remember hearing when I was a kid. It was ALWAYS "Luke, I am your father" never anything else. This is why people around my age quote it like that.

The original VHS release Darth Vader says "Luke, I am your father" we still got it in the old movie cabinet.
The Mandela Effect is one of the most successful psy-ops in history.

This is also different to the original theatrical version. The original line if you watched it in theatres in 1980 was “No Luke”. By the time it hit home video it was “Luke” and then in the 1993 remastered versions it was changed again to just “No”.

The reason this mandella effect exists is because in the directors cut he says luke

James Earl Jones’ greatest moment in his career and he absolutely nailed it. He was born to voice Darth Vader. The Mandella effect of this is still felt over 40 years later. RIP James Earl Jones and May The Force be with you. Long live Lord Vader. ❤

Kind'a reminds me of the "fights" me & my dad had. I am proud to say that my dad never lost! My dad was a very fine fellow.

i do recall at one time he probably said it agressively loud so maybe there is more than one take on this scene and somehow these alternative scenes were used for main film each time they release a remastered version

I’ll never forget the true scene “Luke, I am your father” because I would watch this movie with my father all the time and he would always quote it when he forced me to watch it with him comparing me to Luke, and saying it to me “Luke, I am your father”

I think “Luke I am your father” fits much better than the original and dope that it’s on the director cut

It's so obvious that the "Luke" was edited in. Even sounded different!

I’m very young (15), but when I was 5 I watched this movie on repeat because my dad was a massive Star Wars fan. He had the same dvds from when he was a kid. I always remember it being “Luke, I am your father.” I never remember him saying “no, I am your father.” He always said “Luke”. I remember that moment so vividly because of how much of a plot twist it was for me.
