I bought my 2017 used and at first fuel up I could only drip fuel in or it would shut off the pump (seriously pissed me off). After a dozen f'ed up fueling stops I pulled the inner wheel liner, disconnected the hoses at the back of the fender and blew into the vent tube(s?) and could feel the resistance of the tank valves and then put the gas fill and vent lines back (filler vent was clean btw) and it has worked perfectly - I have seen huge costs at dealers for this- use compressed air if you want but very low pressure. Blow on the vent tube but don't let your neighbors see- just kidding-Fixed the 30 min to fuel problem- 2 years ago. . . just fyi (a 15 min job!)

I had a 14 ram 1500. The fuel vent filter was completely plugged up from driving on dusty roads. The filter is kinda hard to get to, but take it out, clean it up and away you go.

I have to see if I can fix it this weekend, but I know what the value is for, but what would happen if I punched out the valve? Emissions code

I have a 2015 2500 6.4L the filler neck is on a 45 degree angle I can push a 3/4 heater hose and doesn’t hit anything? My truck has a vapor sensor on the return line on the filler neck ? I took it off the only thing that happens is fuel runs on the ground. The dealer replaced the ESIM on the charcoal canister, they did a smoke test and said nothing was wrong then I took to a reputable mechanic shop they done a spoke test and said it needed another ESIM? Not sure why ?. After two shops two smoke tests I am not closer than before ? . Here are the codes I still have: P0944, P0457, P0440 and P0456. I have a gas cap light and according to the repair shop ESIM ? I don’t know where to go from here that’s why I have been asking people on the internet? I have wondered about drilling a hole and installing a one way valve to allow the tank to vent but not allow fuel to run out . I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts besides dynamite.

Great Video had a ram come in and they threw everything but the kitchen sink at the car and never probably checked the valve near the tank.

Is this something that needs to be done everything time?

What’s the fix for the 5th gen 1500s? Mines now having trouble fueling up

Would this give it the “gas cap” light to come up?

only 50% of owners complain about this problem so I figure there are 2 types of owners....The ones that fill up every week when the tank is 3/4 full, and the one that goes to 15 miles to empty once a month. I figure putting gas once a week keeps the valve lubricated ..Just my 2 cents

Can I just knock that valve to float in the tank? Looking for cheap fix.

I’m gonna check this out on my 2010. It sat for almost two years and now that I got it back on the road it will not take fuel at all. Was fine before the motor locked up
