Downtown Dallas fire: Flames destroy part of First Baptist Dallas historic sanctuary

The historic First Baptist Church sanctuary built in the 1800's went up in flames Friday evening.

This is just so very sad on so many levels! My grandparents are in heaven, glad they can’t see this. Pastor Jeffress is correct, it’s just a building, we can rebuild people are the church. I’m very glad no one was hurt. I pray the brave firefighters all stay safe as they do their jobs. In the name of Jesus, I praise our Father, to Him be all glory. Oh, how God loves us, let me count the ways.

This is heartbreaking. I went there a few times but was never a member as I am not Baptist. But this is horrible.

Im from the UK, brought up and christened a Methodist but im not overly religious and dont follow any! BUT my heart still goes out to the congregation of first baptist dallas, im just glad no one was hurt of injured ..as thier pastors have said a church is not the bricks and mortar (they can be rebuilt) its the people and the congregation that makes a church !
