What monitor are you currently using and what are you looking to upgrade to?

This guy infects you with his enthusiasm. Quite refreshing among all the "pc review" channels out there in the wild.

5:38 To add onto this, if you buy a Gsync monitor with an AMD GPU you will use adaptive sync (which behaves pretty much exactly like gsync) you will also be able to use most of the premium Gsync features like variable overdrive and HDR.

One IMPORTANT thing to mention is that with specific partnerships that Nvidia has with companies like Asus is that they gatekeep (lock behind) firmware/software updates through the need of an Nvidia GPU, such as the PG27AQN which blocks ULMB from being updated onto the monitor if you have an AMD GPU. This has never really been a problem before since (usually) you would update through a USB on the monitor itself or even through the DP cable.

So in conclusion, in general you do not need to focus on whether the monitor is Gsync or not if you have an AMD GPU vice versa since most features work if not all, you just have to be careful with specific monitors that intentionally block firmware updates.

I bought the 27" Alienware monitor and absolutely love it. For me its a huge jump from 140 Hz to 240/280. I enjoy my competive gaming lik csgo but also my more casual fun games like dbd. Im still looking for optimised setting for working. Glad for your recommandations i had this monitor on my radar for quite a time and im happy with my purchase.❤

Hi Jason!

Thanks for all your informative videos!

Recently I put together a budget/value build -- my first PC build!. While I made some specific adjustments on a few components based on local (to Canada) pricing and availability, as well as my own personal requirements, I'm confident my system would (mostly) meet your general approval.

What I appreciate from your videos is your emphasis on evaluating the different aspects of price, performance, brand quality, availability, feature set, how the components pair with the others, and then weighing the different trade-offs for my budget range and my particular use cases.

Putting each component through that assessment process was valuable. Your videos were extremely helpful in my arriving at a system that is right-sized for me, at a cost that was acceptable to me.

So, to reiterate -- thanks a lot! Best wishes and continued success for your channel.

They improved the text clarity of M27Q in rev 2.0, by changing the pixel layout to RGB.

This is something to kinda keep in the back of my mind. Due to space, I'm kinda limited to 24" panels tops, and all of the recommended ones are at least 27. I'll be sticking to 1080p for now, but if there is/will be a good 24" 1440p panel out there, then I might consider it.

Picked up the Acer Nitro XV272U from Microcenter recently, so happy I did! $250 for this guy is a steal! Solid build quality, color calibrated, G-Sync works. Vouch +1 for this.

Thanks for covering this monitor, surprised channels like Hardware Unboxed haven't talked about it.

Jason, what do you think of the new Alienware 27" AW2724DM?

So glad to see someone say this. I have a 4090 and still have no intention of going 4k.

Believe it or not, a lot of demanding titles cant run at 165hz at 4k, max quality. Id much rather have a smooth gaming experience than a few more pixels unless i had to use a giant screen. 1440p is the sweet spot.

Thank you Jason, I was actually looking for a new monitor and having this information really helps narrow down the search. I'd love to also see a 4K monitor video.

For those flat VA panel boomers like me, there is the "Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQA1A 27". I like staying in the old and familiar.

I play fighting games mostly for hours at a time.. I am afraid to get an OLED because I think the huds will burn in, but maybe I am wrong. I dig that refresh rate though.
