This has helped me so so much! I have been so frustrated trying Save As and there was no PNG option!!!

The correct way is to go to the applications, find illustrator folder > Find Cool Extras folder(*Weird name) > en_US (*This is another folder in that) >Templates>Blank Templates > Right click >Get Info>Unlock Padlock > Go all the way to the bottom > Sharing and Permissions > Under name and privileges > Turn ALL to Read&Right then lock the Padlock back up to save.
