That's good. At least we can't assume black is rubber. Early on I wondered if all the black ones were rubber or not.

This is interesting and puts the 15208AA160 another step above the 15208AA20A although getting the 160 is more difficult than the 20A or the equivalent Purolator One or Boss for my application.

Surprised the one from Japan was silicone. Nice sharing Pete 😊. Merri

Rather illuminating! I wonder how many filters have silicone ADBVs and we assume they're nitrile…

Not sure but the made in japan could be butyl rubber ?

Whip, I think you likely found only the second exception to black adbv being nitrile rubber, or rubber of some sort, (ACDelco AFE rubber), not silicone. Personally. I don't believe there are many other exceptions. What it has in common with the other known exception, Toyota Thai Denso, both Asian made OEM. Be interesting to see if the Fram made Subaru OEM with black adbv is nitrile or silicone. I'm going to say, like the Indo OEM made, it's nitrile. What I'd also be interested in, the Suby OEM efficiency. If similar to what's known about other Asian OEM, not very efficient. I looked for other vid where you compared two filters, maybe you could link. Good find. Thanks for vid.

They have different kinds of silicone. Not an expert by any means, maybe it is a blend of rubber and silicone?
