Speed can travel any direction left right up down but velocity always travel in a straight line not curve . Eg throwing ball forward with a force (Velocity) juggling ball up down (speed) . Velocity is like a ruler always straight at any point .

Distance means size with no direction
Displacement means size with direction
Speed - distance / time
Velocity- displacement/ time
