"Not like it's going to get more expensive" lol, it did actually. The price went from $10K to $12.5K recently due to the new IPP2 firmware updates.

So for now are you just planning to rent to match the job or request from the producer? If you were to pick up another camera (not RED) what do you think you would go with?

um bellcurve isnt time based its an average distirbution. You cant sell it at the top of the bell curve thats just average. "bubble" is a better word

I'm a small scale videographer, music videos, and short business promos. What have you found as the best way to get into the world of working for producers and creative directors? I'm in the Seattle area BTW. Thanks

Hey Evan! I recently found your channel and have become a huge fan of your work and am totally digging the YouTube channel.
I am new to movie making and would love your advice on what lighting setup/kit I should start with. Mostly interview, YouTube stuff and some run and gun. 2k budget and just interested in what you would buy today for this budget. Thanks brother!

If anyone reading this comment has any suggestions please let me know. Appreciate it.

On a side note I have been hearing good things about wescott flex leds...

1:40 i dont think and accept you need to have a alexa (arri) to be a dp.I own red since 2009 and its not about owning a camera.I saw at least %90 of people became dp with their talents connections not the tool they own.

it's pretty simple! Good cinematographers don't own equipment. They are hired for their talent, not the camera they own.

I'm waiting for the Red Raven Helium. Better for low light!

if your good no one cares what camera you use, keep working on your skills and forget about the gear.

He's giving away a RED saying its the best out there, to then buy another RED

It's odd that owning a camera can get you less jobs than if you don't own one. Or is that a RED issue? Would this be a problem if you owned an Alexa Mini or Amira?

Not trying to be rude but everything you said didn't make any sense and you might have been able to say what you had to in 4 words.

you could have done 8 music videos for 1, 500 each and have it paid for
