As the number of organizations considered "B Corps" grows, it is increasingly important to understand what steps a company must take to receive certification and what it means to manage the "triple bottom line." This panel on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 featured a representative from B Lab, as well as three "B Corp" companies to examine what the certification process entails, how to engage different stakeholders in this process, the potential for policy change in the industry and more. The panel was moderated by Professor Georgie Levenson Keohane and included Sophie Fairs, a manager at B Lab; Jesse Schultz, the Social Innovation Coordinator at Warby Parker; Lily Scott, a senior research analyst at Veris Wealth Partners; and Katie Hunt-Morr, Senior Manager of Values and Impact at Etsy.

I have to say, the fact that you guys were backed by Rockerfeller foundation and that you did not want to answer the question about Wal-Mart about what there score would be makes me a little uneasy about you guys. I mean, you don't know what their score would be? Seriously? I know that you know that their score would suck, so you should be allowed to say it (at least it should suck if the system you guys have is accurate.). That's your opinion, and you can state it if you wish. Opinions to the public shouldn't be frowned upon. I think that is another major part of the company system that is messed up. The people that work there should be allowed to say what they wish during public hearings, and thus representing themselves as they discuss things about the company. And our opinions on other companies should be unfiltered. So I'll say it again, "THEY ARE A TERRIBLE COMPANY.

I think maybe that's why the young, punky groups left is because you guys are becoming too tactful. I mean, I understand showing respect to each other, and others, but seriously, if you guys are all a part of a "movement" you should know that Wal-Mart sucks and that that is something we should be allowed to say FREELY, and if they try to sue, bring it. Well, that's what I'm going to do anyway. :)

MrApplewine Perhaps you don't see any benefit because you fail to see the problem.
