Spot on Jim about the whole ICE vs EV debate. Opinions on YouTube are very polarised one way or the other. Both have their merits and different cars work for different people. Happy new year! 🥳

Electricity kWh prices for EVs away from home need to be more realistic. I’ve got to go back to diesel as it’s cheaper !

I nearly chose an ID.3 last year, but the lack of a true one-pedal driving mode was a dealbreaker for me, even though I liked most of its other features(The price was also a couple hundred extra a month which didn't make sense when the MG4 had similar functionality for much less). I ended up going with the MG4, which has its own quirks. For instance, the one-pedal drive mode has to be enabled manually every time, despite the car having a ‘Custom’ setting that could be used to save this preference. Additionally, one-pedal driving is only available when the battery charge drops below 80–90% (the exact threshold seems to vary, but it consistently works at 80% or lower).

In comparison, the implementations from Nissan (Leaf) and Tesla feel much more refined. Car manufacturers would do well to empower users with more flexibility, letting them configure features like one-pedal driving to suit their preferences.

Another frustration with the MG4 is its over-the-air update capability. While MG claims to support it, you still have to visit a service center to update the car’s software. This undermines the convenience that over-the-air updates are supposed to offer.

Totally agree. It's really up to the individual which power train works best for them. Why people are so opinionated about ICE v EV I really don't know. There is a case for each and until you have actually used/owned an EV I really don't think you are in a position to trash EV.
I consider myself fortunate to own both. I love them equally.

Happy new year Cars are cars totally agree everyone should do what suits them as an ashmatic thats been in hospital this year im much more cleaning up our air so EV for me and am pleased with future ice ban for that reason not so much for me but the little ones of the future

Agree, it’s hard to find out what is the petrol engine C02 emissions of the PHEV ( or even self charging hybrids like RAV4 with a 2.5petrol engine) once it kicks in after electric used up.

Ev’s a good option for short journeys if you can charge cheaply at home (for now - watch what happens when we’ve all been forced into electric vehicles!)
But ICE’s shouldn’t be banned. There are at least 44% of the population who are unable to charge at home.
