I was so stoked to see a Syntaur podcast in my YouTube feed this am I’m not a keyboard player, however I love old synths and want to learn how to repair/solder/ circuit bend . I’m a drummer who uses E-drum kits so the last few years I have really went deep into electronics. I’ve watched every episode of Synth wizards, it was in my recommended from look mum no computer

Thanks for answering my question about the Ensoniq Demo ROM! Your answer makes a lot of sense and I had nothing to go on before this :-)

Two of the most common floppy drive issues:

1. Belt failure. New belt.
2. Dried up grease on the rails the read head slides on. Clean down the rails, regrease.

"I have a CS-80 and I don't use it"... a sentence I bet no one in your audience will ever say ;)

Thanks for the great video, I’m enjoying the show. To me, my behringer deepmind12 is always deeply impressing me, especially since I paid $550 for it. I loooove string machines!! The farfisa syntorchestra is my favorite keyboard like that.

Sam. Some time ago i bought from you keys, sliders, 1/4" female sockets etc etc to fix a badly broken ensoniq mirage. At the same time i bought the sound floppies for the mirage also.

All good.. and the machine got restored and the sound disks worked.

THEN i fitted an ebay hxc usb drive instead of the 3.5'" floppy drive. Again all good ... except i cant transfer the sounds from the floppies i bought from you to the usb.. and there isnt pc disk readers for ensoniq like there is for akai (omniflop etc)

So .. can you figure out a way put the mirage sounds i bought that are on floppy .. onto a pc so i van then transfer to the usb and finally use them?

The synth has very particular sounds used by .. per say.. Inner City on Big Fun. Very distinctive.

Lmk if theres a way. Thx.

Peace ✌ to you & the crew.
