Ecosia interviews Dr. Jane Goodall

Our tree-planting officer Pieter sat down with legendary primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall to talk chimpanzees, forest corridors and why we need to change our attitudes to save the planet.

Ecosia is working with the Jane Goodall Foundation in Uganda to plant trees so that corridors can be established between forest patches. This allows chimps to safely migrate from one area to another and find a mate.

Every month we invest at least 80% of our surplus in tree planting projects all over the world.

I still have a treasured handwritten letter from Dr. Jane in Tanzania from 27 years ago. I was 31, in pursuit of truly meaningful work, and had followed Jane's work since I was a kid in the 60s. Life circumstances didn't allow me to go on a Tanzanian adventure, but after 58 years of life experiences, Jane Goodall is still the only person in this life I would wish to emulate. Thank you, Dr. Goodall, for giving the world hope; and thank you Ecosia for your work!
