This is one of my favourite tracks from the Successful Drumming project. I got to spend almost a week in the studio writing a bunch of brand new songs with one of my favourite piano players, Brett Ziegler. I told him I wanted something that sounded like you're playing a video game and I think he did a dang good job :)

The shots in the middle of the song were my idea. I wanted something that was to the grid, but also not super easy to figure out. Give it a listen and see if you can find the pattern in there.

I am so excited about this Successful Drumming project. I believe it's the best teaching I've ever done and I know it's going to help hundreds of thousands of drummers. Thank you all so much for your support!

I use two pedals, a bass drum pedal and a hi-hat pedal. Therefore, I am a double pedal drummer :) There are so many cool sounds you can get by using the left foot on the hi-hat pedal. Also, for the style of music I normally play, I hardly use a double bass pedal.

It's gaffe tape. I use it to kill some of the overtones from the ride and get more definition out of it.

I've always respected Jared for what he is doing for us drummers, learning us tricks and ways to improve. But by god, i have new found respect for him now, he is SO GOOD!

Jared, thank you soo much. I bought my first drum set about 2 months ago, and even though i am no where close to where i want to be, you have helped me so much with independence. Im doing double and triple stokes on the bass drum without hesitating my hi hat hand at all like when i started. I have an acoustic kit but im saving for an electronic, im definitely dedicated its just going to take time to get it. But for now i play when i get the chance.
