The Bob Ross of finance 👌 I was just listening to a rambling nerd talking about the same topic, and I cut the video short because it was getting too irritating. Then I turned into this channel.Very nice to listen to! Sit back, relax and increase your financial IQ with ease

This is great, thank you.

Taxable looks better and better as I get older. I remember that a CPA told me that the taxable account was the most overlooked account for low to medium earning families.

The ability to control AGI in retirement and pay 0% cap gains or dividends is amazing. Having the ability to borrow against taxable account values of over 100k and earn growth or dividends income is the next level. Harvesting is just the icing on too

I've been trying this out with the fund JEPI. It pays a monthly dividend and so far has produced twice as much as the interest payments, so it's helping pay down the loan too.

soooo theoretically, it can be borrowed agaisnt stocks then go back and buy stocks with the same money and generate dividend to pay it off

This doesn t make sense. If you borrow a million dollars you don t have to give back 40k but 1 million and 40k. Where does the million come from?

The trick with this is obviously the debt and risk management. Thanks for illustrating the foundations for how this works.

If it is an SBLOC you are restricted from buying more securities with loan proceeds.

What happens if the loan is not repaid? Does the borrower hand over shares to the lender, or does the borrower have to sell shares to repay the lender?

This is helpful, thank you! My only question is if you use this to pay for whatever you want, i.e. monthly expenses, etc. How do you pay off the principal of the money you borrowed?

Good info with some fluff. I’ll check out a few more. Thanks. BTW Redbreast Irish (12 year) FTW.

Great video, but I would really like one that goes through a five year hypothetical scenario in which someone borrows $X against their $Y portfolio ... how does it look when they take out another loan to pay off the first loan?

How do Mortgage lenders look at this loan for a down payment versus selling part of your portfolio and having cash on hand for the down payment?
