Did you just call a Centimeter, 1/10th of a meter? Centi means 100! A decimeter is a 1/10th of a meter, a centimeter is 1/100th of a meter.

I will start using the metric system when time measurement is converted to it.

It's not, especially for distance measurements. I worked in manufacturing for 12 years, inches down to .00005". We can hold far tighter tolerances, metric has too many "big" jumps in decimals when converting
