About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

In addition to Dude Dad©, I have been in numerous TV shows, commercials, and have regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I will also be hosting my own TV show called "Super Dad" on the new Magnolia Network / Discovery+. Heidi and the kids will also be a part of the show. I am originally from the rural community of Howard, South Dakota.

We were at a family gathering when our first was still an infant. She poo'd and I told hubby, "It's your turn." He got right up and my brother laughed at him. "I can count on one finger the number I diapers I ever changed!" My father laughed also and said, "I don't need any fingers." My dear hubby just raised his brows, asked, "Did you ever learn how?" and went to take care of his child. I was so proud!

My husband changed more than half of our daughter's diapers when she was a baby. He said I was doing a lot of work with nursing her and so he wanted to help too. In the middle of the night when she woke up, he would change her diaper, bring her to me in bed to nurse and when she was done nursing he would change her again if needed and burp her and get her back to sleep again. I found him many times with our daughter asleep on his chest while he slept too. Don't worry he never dropped her. LOL My mom tried to move her once while they were sleeping like that and he immediately tried to grab our daughter because he thought she was falling. There was no way he would let her get hurt. ♥ She is 21 not in her third year of university. 😁

when my wife and I had our kids together. I took a week off . and she didn't change a diper the whole first week. I couldn't Imagine not being there and supporting my wife.

My baby brother was born in March (56 years ago!). I was 4 years old. I remember saying prayers before bed, and the mantra was "...and God bless the little baby who's coming in March." It was maybe late April or May some time before I got a clue. Mama laughs at me still. I prayed "... and God bless the little baby who's coming in... Hey! That's Jim!" I'm sure my parents got a kick out of hearing me be clueless for months. (No need to include me in the drawing. My four babies are ages 24 to 33, we've been there/done that, don't need a book).

I love hearing your updates. My husband jumped right in on the diaper changes with our first baby. I don't think I had to change a single diaper till we got home from the hospital.

Yes! Changing diapers is definitely a task both parents should do. My husband was initiated into fatherhood by being peed on, pooped on and puked on all in one day. The amazing part is that he just cleaned himself and our child off, laughed and said "I've been baptized into parenthood."
