I always appreciate when sellers take the time to clean what they are selling regardless of what it is.

I knew I should have asked about the scratches before I bought that toolbox

You can remove all rust easily with phosphoric or oxalic acids, they also create corrosion resistant compounds on the metal surface layer, just a pointer.

Add some vinegar to your water and you will get better results. Thanks for sharing.

Vinegar works too, spray on and let it soak for a day. Spray rust away with water after that

When the rust it's too hard on large surface and you want to remove the rust perfectly, i suppose you can only use sandblast, laser or maybe using the flex.

I bough an old Radial Arm Saw on a rusty stand $30.00, I sanded the rust but now It’s covered with rust dust. So after watching your video a a few others I am going to use soap and water, rents, I know that ain’t spelt right, let it dry and paint it thanks.

Ok so you increased the value of the toolbox from $50 to $100, but it appears to have eaten up 1-2 hours of your time and thus your opportunity costs. Do you feel your time is worth more than $25 an hour? If the answer is no, then doing this made sense. However if you feel your time is worth more than that, you should either not invest your time in this pursuit or hire someone to do it for less than $25 an hour.

Took me many years of busting my back day in and day out to realize this.
