I picked up Bandit queen after watching this video and 1hr later put it down. It's giving Indian tv soap opera, and the dialogues sometimes don't make sense. But if translated into Hindi (an Indian language) they do. Can't vibe with it tho

I am so glad you started the thursday murder club. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the writing. I agree with your opionions but maybe because Swedes are bit lite Brits in our "detached" culture (I don't know how to describe it) I really loved it. And I think it is a common way of writing even in Sweden, I actually find it cosy. And I am not referring to the insensitive things said by the elderly people, I know what you are referring to there and I think I mainly accept those because they are expected from people that are +70 years old AND because they do evolve somewhat with the book/-s. 🦆
