I kinda like the aesthetic of MD more, but that Dark theme on VS is great. That's purely aesthetic. As far as functionality...well...I guess I'm on the bandwagon. I helped with a VS Code plugin before the officially supported one was released. I am in MD as I write this, and it DOES seem better, but I still think VS is nice. Though I wish it would load up faster. Haha.

Idk if it's just me but I used the unity versions with MD support and used MD but with monodevelop the thing that kinda annoys me a bit is: When I type for example brackets with most script editors the closing bracket also gets typed instandly. Not with MD. So I always forget to do this. Another thing is: Why are the curly brackts only on altGr + 7 and not on ctrl + alt + 7 aswell? I still find it kinda sad that unity doesn't support Monodevelop anymore. I still like the design more then VS.

just for other users ; i got monodev successfully working and making C# form apps on ubuntu 20 and its very stable

I find Monodevelop is quicker to open than Visual Studio. And the code suggestions
seem friendlier :)
If I hit bugs then I change back to Visual Studio until I fixed the bug then return to good-old Mono develop for speed and friendlieness.

Me likes MD, because there White Theme. And it loads much faster..

I actually find Visual Studio much better than Mono Develop because Mono Develop keeps crashing into a "Fatal error" without reason, and Visual Studio is faster too. Well, it just works for me.

Well, if we are to talk about prices, then ReSharper is $300/year and if I'm correct the MD analog is free.
Though I read that VS is widely preffered on the Internet.

l like MD because if you use Unity x2017 versions then you're OK. Like it opens quickly, has fast IntelliSence; It might better than Visual Studio and VS Code.

i can't use visual studio cause i run linux.
im currently looking into and testing several other ides
non so far worked too well with the gui aspect (work fine with console but as soon as i try doing something graphical they all just shit the bed or something LOL)
im hoping monodevelop will be the one that actually functions at least somewhat correctly with the graphics

In 2020 still you need Visual Studio to build MonoDevelop lol, for unity i use visual studio code one
