Original MRCA in 2002 had 4th gen fighters, now MRFA might have 5th gen. Big defense procurement always face delays in all countries, but only in our country delays are measured not in years or decades but rather in aircraft generation.

Even Russia em selves not placed a big order as their are alot of flaws in 5th gen type capabilities
Instead we should try and co develop 110-125kn thrust engine and other advance equipment for our very own Amca
We could then use Amca to fill the 114MRFA project

I don't think the USA will ever give us the f35, since we have the s400 with us. Anyway I don't think our air force is thinking of the f35. As of today, the best bet would be the SU57.

If KAI-FX or Mitsubishi F-X is offered in MMRCA we should go for that.

India should go for 60 F35 fighter jets and additional 36 Rafael F4 jets.
This should cost India 10 billion plus 8 billion dollars. Another 2 billion should be spent on engine development so that India can make their own fighter jets more powerful.

We should not import any kind of fifth generation stealth fighter from foreign suppliers. If we are going to import any sort of 5th gen plane as stop gap until AMCA comes and US is ready to give F-35 then we should buy a squadron or two of F-35. Su-57 is second best option after the F-35.
