The way he was willing to shake everyone's hand at the end, what a cool guy.

I met my boy Jean Claude back in 1995 at Planet Hollywood Atlanta while he was promoting Sudden Death. I was there with my grandmother and I was 19 she grabbed him by the bicep and asked could you sign an autograph for my grandson to which his reply was yes ma'am, I received two autographs from him. I shook his hand, Damn what a grip, anyway as we were headed home she said to me he's got some big mussels doesn't he and I said well he's not called the Mussles from Brussels for no reason lol. He was such a nice guy and you could just tell that he wasn't stuck up and that he loved his fans. He made my grandmother's day and that's something I'll never forget, thank you Mr. Van Damme for your kindness God bless you sir and much love always from one of your idols. I practiced Jeet Kune Do for a couple of years but I still tried to pattern my movements after JCVD. Also while I was in high school I took drama and reenacted his kitchen fight scene from Timecop including the split and everyone was in awe that I was able to do that and it's all due to his inspiration.

Lots of comments (all over YouTube) about what a great and humble guy JCVD is - what I noticed here immediately is how he realized after asking twice for the audience volunteer to change stance (right not left foot forward) so he could demonstrate, JCVD realized the guy didn't get it, so he simply changed stance to suit - the teacher recognised the need of the student. Then when the producer tells JCVD "the camera can't see your face" he turns the pair of them round instead of demanding the volunteer change stance to suit him and the camera. That is both humble and alert and is the essence of the Sempai/Kohai relationship. It would be a privilege to train with or be instructed by such a man.

Honnêteté et coeur immense de générosité. Un style ressemblant beaucoup a la Savate Française. Merci Monsieur Van Damme! Que Dieu vous bénisse

It doesn’t matter how tall you are, his leg will get your head …

He combined one of Lee's moves there(the kick that intercepts forward movement) with what you already knew about JCVD...I think he's a scary opponent in a real legends tournament!
