I was looking for information on how to move the door stops. You are the only one who moved them inside the bolts. Couldn't have done it without watching you first!

my opinion it is very important to get backing in the wall for the barn door to last, I will use a 1+6 header board and cut out the sheet rock so you will not see it when you install the header board and put in backing so the lags have something to bite into because you are not going to have backing past the opening header, in new construction we always put backing in if we knew that a barn door was going to be installed . then you won't have any problems with the door sagging over time and always use a roller at bottom of door instead of floor guide, try to have the door be about two inches coverage on both side, the soft close system is a good choice as well

Thanks for making this. Instructions with the hardware were hard to understand regarding where to install the floor guide.

Matt great job young man! Imagine my surprise when I did a search on "how to hang a barn door" and your video popped up. Glad to see you are doing great. The video definitely helped.

I have a 84 inch opening, that need to slide to the right side only, so is there a track that is 168 inches to slide to the left to open?

Well done video. Could use advise. I am making my doors and have plenty or room with a header to adjust the bracket. Would you hang the bracket first to see how tall the door should be? Or would it be better to make the door first (it can be bigger than opening of course - doesn't need to be precise) -- and then mount bracket after door is made?

So I can set it up so the door slides to the left or right?

I have a question. So I don't have a traditional door opening. The room was added on and originally used as an office. I'm turning it into a bedroom and was looking to install a barn door. The opening is 60 in across. I know that most openings are 54 inches. When I was looking for hardware I see that in the description it says for a 54 inch door. My wall width is a little over 9ft. So, with all that background here's my question; does it matter if my opening is wider than 54 inches? Do I have to find the exact measurements to install, or can I just adjust where the hardware goes? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I am not familiar with barn doors. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your video.

Where did you get the measurement of 1 13/16" for the spacer block used to install the hangers? The written instructions show 1 11/16" and when the holes are drilled according to the instructions of 1 1/2" and 3 1/2" below that, the spacer block would be too short..

Thank you! The instructions did not give the measurement from the caster to the door and this helped tremendously.

Help please. After installing. I noticed big gap on ones side of the door when close. Completely flushed.. door is 2 inch thick.. used the supplied bolts for the hangers that says 1 3/4 thickness. Did it caused the gap? Thanks
